I am a clinical psychologist practicing in Manhattan and remotely. I have experience treating adults (18+) and older adults (65+) dealing with various issues, such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. Furthermore, I treat people coping with more general life circumstances, such as a sense of emptiness, difficulty controlling anger, and indecisiveness. My experiences include working in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, an addictions program, and research clinics in New York City and New Haven, CT. My clinical approach draws on psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT). In addition to my psychotherapy work, my research interest has focused on psychotherapy methods aimed to provide care for narcissistic clients.
I believe that psychotherapy is a self-discovery journey. It allows people to gain insight into their hard-wired habits (behaviors, thinking patterns, and feelings) and thus learn to alter them. I invite my clients to explore their life stories, make sense of them, and embark on a new path. It is not infrequent that new clients seeking help for a set of reasons realize during treatment that they need and want to work on other issues rather than those they had first identified. I also provide a more structured, skills-based therapy to those who need more tangible assistance. I particularly enjoy working with individuals new to treatment. I work in a collaborative approach that provides my clients with open space and often incorporates open discussions. Services can be provided in either English or Hebrew.
